Al-Moallem meets Algerian Prime Minister, Heads of National popular and Nation councils, says Syria will not accept targeting its unity

Algiers, SANA- Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem affirmed on Tuesday that Syria will not accept targeting its unity or sovereignty, adding that what happens in the region is an implementation of a western policy that aims at dividing the Arab nation.

Al-Moallem discussed during a meeting with Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal relations between Syria and Algeria with both sides expressing satisfaction over the brotherly relations that connect the two countries and people.

They exchanged ideas about a number of issues related to the current situation as al-Moallem briefed sellal on the latest developments in the region and the crisis in Syria, the intera-Syrian talks in Geneva and the victories achieved by the Syrian Arab army, the latest of which was the restoration of security and stability to Palmyra.

Algerian Prime Minister, for his part, affirmed that Algeria, as leadership and people, supports Syria and this is a firm stance, hoping peace, security and stability would return to the region, particularly Syria.

Al-Moallem also met Mohammad al-Arabi Wild Khalifa, Head of the National Popular Council in Algeria who welcomed the visit of the Syrian delegation, hailing the distinguished and historic relations between the two states.

Wild Khalifa congratulated al-Moallem and the Syrian people for returning Palmyra to lap of Homeland, hoping this victory would be the start for more victories that lead to the restoration of stability to Syria.

He affirmed Algeria’s commitment to the territorial integrity of Syria, and the firm stance of Algeria which assert Syria’s sovereignty in taking its decisions without any foreign intervention.

“Syria will not accept targeting its unity and the sovereignty of its decision,” al-Moallem said, adding that the solution that would be accepted for the Syrian government is that which keeps Syria’s territorial integrity and meets aspirations of the Syrian people.

In the same context, Al-Mollaem met AbdelKader bin Saleh, Head of the Nation Council who hailed the Syrian people’s struggle, saying that what is taking place in Syria is an outcome of projects which are planned outside the borders of the region.

He added that stances of the Algerian government in support of Syria at international circles come in the framework of Algeria’s method that backs justice and right.

Al-Moallem also said that his visit to Algiers aims to brief the Algerian leadership on the situation in Syria, adding that the Syrian government considers the national reconciliations as a priority and reality has proven that the field achievements are the basic supporter for the political process and reconciliations.

Al-Maollem visited the museum of “Al-Mujahid” which displays the history of the Algerian Liberation Revolution, touring its sections and appreciating the sacrifices and the revolution of the Algerian people.
