Damascus, SANA- Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi stressed that Syria which is defending the whole world through fighting the international terrorism, deserves to be supported, particularly by its people inside it and abroad.
Al-Halaqi, meeting a delegation from the Defending Syria Association in Sweden headed by George Maqdisi Elias, said that Syria is the cradle of human civilizations and the honorable and bright history as it has been the basis for spreading science, knowledge, amity and tolerance around the world through the Syrian expatriates who have played a significant role in the progress of many countries.
He shed light on the significant role of the expatriates in building bridges of communication between the countries where they live and the homeland through enhancing economic, trade and scientific relations, in addition to exposing the nature of the global terrorist war waged against Syria.
Al-Halaqi called upon the expatriates to urge the governments of the states where the live to cooperate with Syria in combating terrorism which threatens all the countries of the world.
He also called upon the Syrian expatriates to return to their homeland and to contribute in rebuilding and defending it against terrorism, affirming that the stage of reconstruction will be carried out by the Syrians who are loyal to their homeland through investing their capitals in developmental and investment projects in Syria.
The PM highly appreciated the efforts exerted by the Defending Syria Association in Sweden for getting in touch with the homeland and alleviating the suffering of the Syrians through providing aid to them, thanking members of the delegation for conveying a true image about what is taking place in Syria to the countries where they reside.
He added that the Government has taken all required measures to rehabilitate what has been destroyed by the armed terrorist groups and to start a stage of reconstruction.
The Premier referred to the attempts of undermining the Syrian Pound, saying that the Syrian banking institutions have been able to remain resilient and to enhance the factors of the Syrian Pound steadfastness.
He expressed confidence that the victories achieved by the Syrian Army and the support provided by Syria’s friends, particularly Russia and Iran will make Syria defeat terrorism and will rebuild the renewable Syria.
Reaching a political solution to the crisis in Syria will be only inter-Syrian and based on the national principled stances away from any foreign dictations or interferences, the PM said.
For their part, members of the delegation expressed their continued support to their homeland and their appreciation for the efforts exerted by the Syrian Government to strengthen the resilience of the Syrian people, affirming that Syria in cooperation with its friends will achieve the victory soon.
Head of the delegation, reiterated that the Syrian expatriates, particularly in Sweden are adhered to their homeland, and that they will stand by the Syrian people to enhance their steadfastness.
