“From Palmyra to Damascus” Forum for Arts and Innovation kicks off tomorrow

Damascus, SANA – The 5th edition of the National Forum for Art and Innovation, held by the Ministry of Tourism, kicks off on Sunday under the title of “From Palmyra to Damascus”.

Head of the Forum, researcher Taj-Eddin al-Mohammad, told SANA that the event will see the statue of Zenobia, Queen of Palmyra, being relocated and placed in al-Umawiyeen Square in Damascus.

He added that the Forum, which will run through September 9th, also includes a photo exhibition on the terrorists’ crimes against Syria’s cultural heritage and historical treasures, a folkloric fashion show and documentaries about the Syrian civilization.

A film highlighting the life course and remarkable achievements of Palmyra archeologist Khaled al-Asaad who recently was beheaded by the Islamic State in Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) will also be screened.
