Social Affairs Minister discusses with Belgian and Dutch political activists conditions of displaced people due to terrorism

Damascus, SANA- Minister of Social Affairs Rima al-Qadiri discussed on Sunday with a delegation of Belgian and Dutch political activists the conditions of displaced people due to terrorism and means to support them.

The minister affirmed that the government is seeking to meet the needs and provide foodstuffs for affected people and residents in temporary residence centers and create job opportunities for them.

She pointed out that the current crisis in Syria had made it imperative for the government to work to achieve short-term development objectives to meet the needs of citizens, noting the partnership between the government, civil society, international organizations and humanitarian associations and organizations to meet the needs of affected people.

Al-Qadiri urged the delegation members to exert pressure on their governments to pressure the countries which are supporting terrorism to stop the war that caused the displacement of the Syrians.

For their part, members of the delegation said that the image promoted about Syria abroad is different from the situation on the ground as they had seen it during their visit, affirming that they will work to convey the truth of what is happening in Syria to their countries and to support Syrians inside or outside Syria.
