United Nations, SANA- UN Security Council has just expressed its “deep concern” over the fate of families trapped in Palmyra city after the dominance of Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist organization on it, taking no serious action in this regard.
“The council is concerned over the fate of women and children, in particular, in light of the ISIS well-known practices of abducting, exploiting and abusing women and children, including rape, sexual abuse, coercive marriage and forced child recruitment,” AFP quoted Security Council as saying in a presidential statement issued unanimously.
It condemned the destruction of archeological features in Syria and Iraq at the hands of ISIS, expressing concern over the destiny of Palmyra ruins, recorded on the World Heritage list.
