Trade Minister: Government committed to provide basic materials for citizens

Damascus, SANA-Minister of Trade and Consumer Protection Hassan Safiya affirmed on Thursday that the government is committed to  provide all basic demands and materials of food with high quality and prices that suit all citizens.

The Minister, meeting Damascus merchants, appreciated industrialists and tradesmen for their prominent role and standing by the citizens, their assuming of burdens due to the unjust war imposed in the country, to keep the movement of markets active and shops open in front of consumers.

For his part, Chairman of the Board of Damascus Chamber of Commerce Ghassan al-Qalaa called for finding a clear mechanism to compensate the merchant for the changes in the price of Syrian pound against foreign currencies.
