Armenia officially recognizes State of Palestine

Yerevan, SANA- Republic of Armenia has declared on Friday its official recognition of the State of Palestine.

“The catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza and the ongoing military conflict are one of the key issues on the international political agenda that require resolution,” RT quoted the Armenian Foreign Ministry as saying in a statement on its website.

The Foreign Ministry noted that the Republic of Armenia has joined the UN General Assembly resolutions calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

“On various international platforms, we have been calling for a peaceful and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian issue”, the ministry added.

“Based on the above and reaffirming its commitment to international law and the principles of equality, sovereignty and peaceful coexistence of peoples”, the Republic of Armenia recognizes the State of Palestine,”

On May 28, Spain, Ireland and Norway officially recognized the State of Palestine.
