Iran says Canada terror designation for Revolutionary Guards ‘hostile step’

Tehran, SANA- Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani hit out at the Canadian move of listing the country’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps “a terrorist entity” as hostile step and contrary to the accepted norms and principles of international law.

He asserted that this irresponsible and provocative move is a continuation of the wrong path that the Canadian government has taken over the past decade under the control of warmongers and supporters of terrorism.

Kanaani stressed that the Revolutionary Guards is a sovereign institution and has an official and legal identity derived from Constitution of Iran Islamic Republic,” underlining that Iran reserves the right to respond in a way commensurate with this aggressive measure against Iranian people and government.
