Damascus countryside, SANA- The Syrian-Chinese Business Council discussed on Sunday means to boost trade exchange and economic cooperation between the two countries, and upgrade the economy to the level of political relations.
In a press statement, Chairman of the Council, Eng. Muhammad Hamshou, said the Council’s role is to bolstering economic relations between Syria and China, increasing the volume of trade exchange, and exporting the Syrian products to Chinese markets.
Hamshou referred to the obstacles and difficulties facing the Syrian exports to China, including transportation and money transfer operations due to unilateral coercive measures.
He indicated that this meeting was held to discuss these obstacles and develop a work plan, with an appropriate period of time to be discussed with the government and the Chinese Embassy in Damascus.
The participants proposed establishing a joint Syrian-Chinese office by businessmen, which would solve money transfer problems and seek to sign memorandums of understanding between the two sides on foodstuffs.
