Syria, DPRK discuss agricultural cooperation

Damascus, SANA-Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform Ahmad al-Qadri discussed with Hong Chol, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) means of developing agricultural cooperation between the two sides and benefitting from the Korean experience in silkworm rearing.

Al-Qadri underscored the solid relations between Syria and DPRK, citing cooperation in exchanging agricultural expertise and scientific research in view of the Korean successes in various agricultural fields.

The minister said that a technical agricultural cadre will be trained to produce silkworm eggs and tap into Korean experience in this regard.

The two sides are set to exchange expertise in livestock and modern technologies, added al-Kaderi.

The DPRK official, for his part, expressed his country’s readiness to offer all kinds of support to Syria as to increase agricultural production and boost the Syrian economy.
