What do the leaked Pentagon documents contain?

Washington-SANA- The recent leaks of Pentagon papers, which the US views as one of the most serious breaches targeting its national security since the leaking by WikiLeaks in 2013, confirm that Washington is partner that could not be trusted in, as it spies on allies as well as enemies, and proves what Russia has repeatedly warned of the existence of an actual role of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization “NATO” in the Ukrainian crisis.

More than 100 leaked documents, including those related to the war in Ukraine, analyzes from US intelligence agencies, and secret press briefings on Russia, China, the Middle East, and the military theater in the Indo-Pacific region.

A trove of leaked documents detailing plans for an attempted offensive by Ukrainian forces against Russia in the spring, and contains brief information about 12 Ukrainian brigades in formation ,9 of which have been trained and equipped by the US and other NATO allies.

One of the documents labelled “Top Secret” revealed that a group of 100 special operations personnel of NATO members “the US, France, Britain and Latvia” are already active on the ground in Ukraine.

Other documents described the status of the Ukrainian army, one of which is dated February 23rd and classified as “Confidential” details how the Ukrainian S-300 air defense systems will be depleted by May 2, according to their current rate of use.

Documents presented confidential information about Israel’s willingness to provide Ukraine with qualitative weapons, despite its claim that it is not a party to the war.

There are also documents revealing the US spying on Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who announced that he was not surprised by this, describing it as expected, while great disappointment prevailed among Ukrainian officials after receiving this news.

Furthermore, the leaked documents revealed Washington’s spying on South Korean officials, as they include details of private discussions between senior Korean officials about US pressure on the Asian ally to help supply arms to Ukraine and Seoul’s policy not to do so.

For this, The South Korean Democratic Party, the largest opposition party, called on the country’s presidency to urgently demand clear information from Washington regarding what was stated in the documents.
“If the report is true, it will be an act that can never be accepted between allies over 70 years, a violation of sovereignty and diplomatic deception that directly destroys bilateral trust,” said Park Hong-keun, leader of the Democratic Party.

In this context, The US Departments of Justice and Defense launched investigations into the leaking of the documents, while the Washington Post quoted US officials that some of these documents were forged, but most of them are original and are consistent with CIA reports circulating in the White House, the Pentagon and the State Department.

Analysts and experts questioned veracity of the leaked documents, considering them as an American attempt to mislead, especially as it contained false information about the stationing of Russian forces, while the Chinese newspaper Global Times considered that the leaking of the documents may be a result of a political division within the United States and was carried out by forces seeking to review Washington’s current plan to support the Kiev regime.
