New York, SANA- United Nations (UN) Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen, has affirmed that the emergency humanitarian response to the earthquake-affected people is an urgent priority in Syria, calling for the non-politicization of the aid file.

In a briefing to the UN Security Council, broadcast by the United Nations website, Pedersen highlighted the need for emergency response in support of the humanitarian duty and to allow aid to arrive by all ways and means.

Pedersen added that this is the right time for everyone to donate quickly and generously to Syria and remove all obstacles that prevent relief from reaching the Syrians in all affected areas.
