Syrian Publishers Union participates in 54th session of Cairo Book Fair

Cairo, SANA- the head of the Syrian Publishers Union, Haitham Hafez, stressed the importance of the Syrian participation in Cairo International Book Fair in its 54th session, pointing out that Syria has always participated in a distinguished manner through its writers and publishers.

“the Syrian publishing houses present various books this year in all scientific, intellectual, religious, social and political fields, in addition to children’s books that contribute effectively to building their personality throughout its various stages”, Hafez said in a statement to SANA correspondent in Cairo on the occasion of the opening of the exhibition.

Hafez added that the Syrian Publishers Union participates in various cultural events to highlight the civilized role of Syria and its noble lofty message, despite the unjust blockade that Syria is exposed to and a conspiracy targeting its strength and civilization, pointing to the importance of the book to spread societal awareness among the different generations in light of the attempts to change minds as well as the media and information warfare that targets our communities.

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Egyptian Prime Minister, and Dr. Nevine El-Kilani, Minister of Culture, inaugurated on Wednesday morning Cairo International Book Fair in its 54th session at Egypt International Exhibition Center, under the slogan “Egypt… Together We Read, We Think, We Create” with the participation of 1047 Egyptian, Arab, and foreign publishers from 53 countries.
