On behalf of President al-Assad and Mrs. Asma, Aleppo Governor offers condolences on demise of poet Shaghaleh

Aleppo, SANA- On behalf of President Bashar al-Assad and the First Lady Mrs. Asma al-Assad, Governor of Aleppo Hussein Diyab offered condolences on the demise of poet Safouh Shaghaleh who passed away on Tuesday at the age of 66.

Diyab conveyed the condolences of the President and the First Lady to the family of the late Shaghaleh, hailing his great role in the cultural life of Syria in general, and Aleppo in particular, which was represented by many distinguished artistic works that had a great impact on the preservation of the cultural heritage of Aleppo.

The governor referred to the late poet’s patriotic stances, which were embodied through his artistic career and patriotic lyrical works over many decades.

For their part, the relatives of the late poet expressed their gratitude and appreciation for this kind initiative of the president that expresses appreciation for the patriotic stances of the Shaghaleh during his life.

They stressed that the late poet received constant and continuous attention from President al-Assad and the First Lady.

The late Safouh Shaghaleh is considered one of the most prominent poets of the Syrian song, who presented works in the various Syrian dialects and various dialects of the Arab world, while his lyrics were composed by a number of the most famous composers in Syria and the Arab world.
