People’s Assembly condemns QSD militia’s violations of education right in northern Syria

Damascus, SANA- Arab Foreign Affairs and Expatriates committee in the People’s Assembly condemned on Wednesday QSD militia’s practices in preventing students in northern Syria from learning according to the official curriculum accredited by the Syrian state in contrary to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the United Nations Charter and international law.

The committee called for all necessary measures to be taken by international parliamentary organizations and the international community for the continuity of education, stressing that depriving the people of the Syrian al- Jazeera from water and electricity by the separatist militia of QSD  and by preventing education in schools in those areas according to the Syrian curriculum accredited by the Syrian Ministry of  Education is under penalty of closing such schools is an explicit and sheer violation of Article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, pointing out that these actions are carried out under the cover and support of the US occupation.

“These practices will cause a new wave of displacement and is an attempt to bring about demographic change and to create a new reality that threatens international peace and security” the committee stressed, reiterating its emphasis on the sovereignty of the Syrian state, the independence of its decision, the unity and integrity of its territories and people, and its right to use all legitimate methods to confront terrorist organizations supported by the US, Turkish and Israeli occupations.
