Damascus, SANA- Minister of Culture, Lubanah Mshaweh, discussed on Thursday with the Russian delegation of Nizhny Novgorod region, headed by Deputy Governor, Peter Panikov, mutual cultural cooperation.
Minister Mshaweh reviewed with members of the Russian delegation during their visit to the ministry, the possibility of holding cultural weeks, bringing experts in the music to the High Institute of Music and organizing specialized workshops and cinematographic co-production.
The Minister briefed the delegation on Syria’s exerted efforts associated with preserving the county’s intangible cultural heritage, asserting that Syria has a rich history and has always been home to diverse cultures with a rich artistic and cultural heritage.
The cultural weeks offer a wide range of cooperation fields, among which art exhibitions, musical evenings, folk dance performances in addition to showing the heritage craft products,” Mshaweh said in statement to SANA reporter.
Panikov, for his part, said that Nizhny Novgorod, 800 years old city, is distinguished for its cultural heritage, particularly the artistic handicrafts as well as containing various cultural institutions, museums and public libraries.
