Syria supports Donetsk people’s right to self-determination- Mikdad

Damascus, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, held Monday a session of talks with Nataliya Nikonorova, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Donetsk People’s Republic and an accompanying delegation comprising Culture and Agriculture ministers.

“The Syrian Arab Republic supports Donetsk Republic and backs Donetsk people’s right to self-determination,” Mikdad said during the meeting, affirming the necessity of enhancing relations between the two friendly counties in all fields.

 “Western policies that back terrorism in Syria impede the political efforts to restore normal situation to the country, and the unilateral, coercive measures imposed on Syria and Federal Russia are immoral and contract the international law and UN convention,” Mikdad said.

Nikonorva, for her part, thanked Syria for its support to Donetsk Republic and its respect for the Dontesk people’s choice.

The two sides discussed the possibility of multilateral cooperation in all domains in the interests of both peoples.
