Damascus, SANA- The Syrian and Iraqi Ministries of Water Resources inked Friday the joint executive program for cooperation in achieving the objectives of the ninth phase of the Intergovernmental Hydrological Program (IHP-IX) at Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus.
The program, signed by Water Resources Minister, Tammam Ra’ad, and his Iraqi counterpart, Mehdi Rashid al-Hamadani, includes forming a Joint Coordination Committee comprising experts representing the two countries with a mission to establish a joint electronic platform, develop capacities and exchange experiences between the two countries.
The program also includes following up on conducting joint research in related fields and exchanging ways to spread Community Sensitization on Water in light of climate changes, reduce wastage, fostering the use of Non-Conventional Water (NCW) resources, and establishing Joint Monitoring Program (JMP) for Water Supply.
