Damascus, SANA- “Over seven decades, the Syrian Arab Army has presented the most wonderful epics of heroism, sacrifice and redemption in order to defend the homeland and preserve its unity, sovereignty, independence and independent national decision,” the cabinet said.
In a statement on the 77th anniversary of the founding of the Syrian Arab Army, the cabinet added “The army, which has carried the banner of defending the Arab nation and its just causes in the face of colonialism in all its forms, has continued, for more than eleven years, its lofty national mission in defending the land and the people in the face of black terrorism, criminal aggression and a global war which is backed by the forces of evil and aggression in the world.”
The statement said that the national steadfastness of our proud people and their heroic army have been capable of defeating the enemies and shattering their dreams.
In its statement, the Cabinet noted that on the Army Day, we must proudly remember our righteous martyrs, the torches of light, who pledged to God to defend the homeland and preserve its dignity.
The statement paid tribute to the heroic army, its commander-in-chief, and its honorable men, officers, non-commissioned officers and individuals, and a salute to the souls of the honorable martyrs who sacrificed their blood for the sake of the homeland’s pride and dignity, and a salute to the wounded heroes, the living martyrs.
