Salamiyeh Cultural Festival Days (Ayyam Salamiyeh) reflects the city’s heritage

Hama, SANA- Salamiyeh Cultural Festival Days (Ayyam Salamiyeh) kicked off on Saturday with a carnival celebration on the amphitheater of the Ismaili Supreme Shiite Council in Salamiyeh city and included artistic, musical and folk shows.

The festival, whose events to last for seven days, aims to expose the city’s heritage, uniqueness and civilization by displaying folk costume and traditional tools.

The festival will witness chess tournaments, a morning march, cultural lectures, activities for children and women, and an exhibition of plastic art and charitable book fair along with the participation of the elderly and of special needs.

Head of the Ismaili Shiite Council in Syria said “the festival is a challenge to all difficulties and circumstances the country is going through and confirms the steadfastness of the Syrian people”.

Metropolitan Nicolas Baalbaki, Metropolitan of Hama for Greek Orthodox, said that culture and arts are not exclusive to a specific nation and need not interpretation, and I am pleased to attend Salamiyeh Cultural Festival”.
