World Peace Council condemns coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people

Havana, SANA- The World Peace Council (WPC) has condemned the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people, reiterating its support for Syria’s efforts to combat terrorism.

This came during the 70th international symposium of the World Peace Council, which was held in the Cuban province of Guantanamo, in which Syria and more than 35 countries participated, under the title “Abolition of Foreign Military Bases.”

Ali Barakat, Head of the Foreign Relations Office of the National Union of Syrian Students, and Ashraf Fadel, Director of the Secretariat’s Office in the Union, noted that the Syrian participation comes within the framework of supporting the efforts of the Cuban friends to restore their lands and protect their independence.

They stressed Syria’s support for the efforts of the World Peace Council to build sustainable peace in all parts of the world.

They indicated that the presence of the US occupation forces on Syrian territory constitutes a violation of United Nations and Security Council resolutions that affirm Syria’s unity and respect its independence.

The participants expressed their support for Syria in its war against terrorism, hailing the steadfastness and resistance of the Syrian people and their valiant army, and the victories they achieved in their war on terrorism.
