China calls for removing unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria

New York, SANA-China called on the international community to lift the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrians.

First Deputy Permanent Representative of China to United Nations, Ambassador Dai Bing stressed during a Security Council session Tuesday the need to immediately lift those measures in order to restore the right of the Syrian people to develop their economy and rebuild their homeland.

Bing called on the international community to implement Security Council Resolution No.2585 on providing humanitarian aid and reconstruction without preconditions and helping the Syrian people obtain sustainable basic services, noting that the UN should strengthen monitoring of cross-border aid deliveries to ensure reaching them to those in need.

Bing also renewed his country’s call for the necessity of pushing the political process in Syria forward which is led and implemented by the Syrians themselves, without outside interference.

He elaborated that making progress in resolving major national security issues such as foreign occupation and terrorism may help create the necessary conditions for the political process, highlighting his country’s readiness to work with the UN, the Astana Process guarantor states and relevant countries in the region to make greater efforts to resolve these issues.
