Snowfall at night in regions with altitude below 700 m

Damascus, SANA- Most regions are witnessing the peak of the low pressure, which has begun to affect the country, especially the coastal region, since yesterday evening and will continue until next Friday, according to Head of the Central Prediction Center at the General Directorate of Meteorology, Shadi Jawish

Since morning, the southern region has begun to be affected by the low pressure, which will extend over the afternoon hours to include several regions, Jawish said in a statement to SANA

He added that snow is expected to fall in the regions with altitude above 1200 m, while at night it will fall at altitude less than 1000 to 700 meters.

Jawish noted that the snowfall in the inland regions, including Damascus, will be light, saying that the effectiveness of the low pressure will gradually weaken on Thursday and Friday

The chance of snow and rain will become weak in most areas, next week, the weather will remain cold at night, frost and ice are also expected, according to Jawish.
