Syria, Iran to enhance economic and transport cooperation

Damascus, SANA- Prime Minister, Hussein Arnous, discussed with Rustam Qasemi, Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran, means of enhancing joint cooperation in various economic, ,transport, industry, electricity sectors and oil products.

Talks during the meeting dealt with the importance of intensifying efforts to find a form of economic integration between the two countries, increase trade exchange, implementing agreements and memos of understanding signed between the two states.

Arnous stressed the Syrian government’s readiness to take all measures that contribute to pushing bilateral relations forward, overcoming obstacles that face them and finding basic pillars for long-term economic cooperation.

He appreciated Iran’s stance in support of the Syrian people in the war against terrorism and the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on the country.

Minister Qasemi, in turn, reiterated his country’s continued support for Syria and its keenness on expanding cooperation between the two countries in all fields, especially in economy.
