Syrian Drama’s oak, Muna Wassef , honored at creativity assembly

Damascus, SANA- Renowned Syrian artist , Muna Wassef, has taken the students of Higher Institute of Dramatic Art to an exciting tour through her artistic journey which is rich in achievements that lasts for more than 60 years at a creativity assembly been held at the Institute.

The dialogue managed by critic, Saad al-Qassem, on the stage of Saadallah Wannous Theater at the Institute was cordial and revolved around a lot of memories and attitudes and important artistic information that reflected abstract of the creative experience of the Syrian drama’s oak , Wassef.

Wassef talked about her beginning at the Military Theater in 1960 and her shows where she had got to know her husband , late Muhammed Shahin, in addition to other significant figures at the Syrian art such as Rafiq al-Sabban, Yussef Hanna and Hani al-Rumani.

She also referred to her beginning at TV and cinema in addition to her role in the international film, The Message, directed and produced by Moustapha Akkad, that boosted her artistic character and helped increase her confidence in her capabilities and was a turning point for all her roles she played later.

The Syrian oak voiced her love to Theater and her perseverance to be always at the top through dedicating her life to the career she has chosen and still has been living her details with much love.

The Institute’s students who filled the place asked Wassef many questions and she advised them not to be in a hurry to the fame and to keep perseverance and diligence till they realize their ambitions ,with wassef asserting that her career was based on two principles which are ; avoiding excessive euphoria of success and not to fear failure.

Minister of Culture, Lubanah Mshaweh, said that this assembly been held by the institute is a significant step especially as it is inaugurated with Wasssef who was a perfect choice that helped students touch their way towards stardom without ego or fear of failure.
Later, the Institute presented a shield to actress Wassef as an honor for her long, rich career.
