Stability of situation in northeastern Syria is subject to US forces’ withdrawal , Lavrentiev says

Moscow, SANA- Russian President’s Special Envoy to Syria, Alexander Lavrentiev, stressed that the stability of the situation in northeastern Syria is subject to the US occupation forces’ withdrawal from this region.

“The administration of former US President Donald Trump bears the responsibility for undermining many efforts to achieve stability in addition to the deterioration of the economic situation in Syria.” Lavrentiev said in an interview with the Russian Kommersant newspaper.

Lavrentiev added that the administration of current US President Joe Biden admitted that Trump’s approach was not constructive, expressing Moscow’s hope that this administration would not use the slogans of “humanitarian support” to justify cross-border aid to Syria.
