Tehran supports Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity

New York, SANA-Iranian Foreign Minister, Hussein Amir Abdollahian, reaffirmed his country’s principled stance in support of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Abdollahian, meeting UN special envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen on the sidelines of General Assembly meetings in New York, said that the illegitimate presence of foreign forces in Syria have escalated crisis in the country.

He condemned the coercive, unilateral measures imposed on Syria, calling on the United Nations to play a more active role to remove those sanctions.
