Russian ensemble performs musical concert at al-Azem Palace, Damascus

Damascus, SANA- On Tuesday evening, an artistic concert was held at al-Azem Palace in Damascus city by the Russian Red Star Army Chorus and Dance Ensemble.

The concert was organized by the Russian Cultural Center in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture on the sidelines of the Syrian-Russian joint meeting to follow up International Conference on Return of Syrian Refugees, and it included musical, lyrical and dance shows.

Brigadier General Vyacheslav Saitov, Deputy Head of the Russian Red Star Army Chorus and Dance Ensemble affirmed the aim of the concert is to entertain the Syrians and the Russian citizens residing in Syria and in the ancient historical city of Damascus.

Ballerina Ekaterina Levakina, who joined the band 18 years ago, said that she performs this kind of arts in order to bring happiness to people

She noted that she has performed this show in Aleppo city where she received a warm welcome by the audience, expressing happiness to come to Syria.

Aritom Greek who is a member of the group, said that the aim of this show is to endow the audience with positive energy and happiness, and to raise the people’s morale and show that the army is not only a firepower but also artistic musical power.
