Damascus, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Ministry on Thursday held a farewell ceremony for Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Jawad Turkabadi, who has ended his mission as an ambassador of his country in Syria.
During the ceremony, Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Bashar al-Jaafari, awarded the Syrian Order of Merit, of the Excellent degree for the ambassador as gratitude to Iran, and in appreciation for his good efforts to enhance relations between the two brotherly countries.
The ambassador thanked President Bashar al-Assad on granting him the Order of Merit, appreciating the Syrian government and people and Foreign Ministry’s staff for their cooperation to complete his mission as ambassador of his country.
He affirmed that Syria lives today the victory, hoping this victory would be completed.
Al-Jaafari, for his part, described relations between Syria and Iran as deeply-rooted which were boosted after the Islamic revolution in Iran when the two late leaders, Hafez al-Assad and Ayatollah Khomeini founded those relations that progressed with the passage of time.
He hailed Iran’s support for the Syrian state to boost the resilience of the Syrian people, hoping Iran would enjoy prosperity and progress.
