Syrian Clans and Tribes in Hasaka: Siege imposed by QSD militia on locals a war crime

Hasaka, SANA- The Council of Elders and Dignitaries of Syrian Clans and Tribes in Hasaka has condemned the unjust siege imposed by QSD militia along with the US occupation, considering it as a war crime against the locals in the cities of Hasaka and Qamishli.

A statement by the Council read “The Council of the Elders and Dignitaries of the Syrian Clans and Tribes in Hasaka condemns this siege in strongest terms and it considers it as a war crime because it aims to kill tens of thousands of people through preventing their access to food, water and medicine for more than 18 days.”

The statement added “From its national position, the Council affirms its standing by the side of peaceful protestors, and it strongly condemns the attacks launched against them by QSD militia with live bullets, and it warns that causing the martyrdom and injuries among the locals in this barbaric way would lead to more unrest and instability,” holding QSD fully responsible for what happened and what would happen later.

“Based on the keenness on the peace and security, the Council calls on QSD leaderships to speedily lift the siege, and to not be subordinate to the US occupation which wants to sow sedition in the Syrian al-Jazeera region to guarantee that it will remain on its land to plunder oil and to trade off its presence for future political solutions deals that he thinks he can impose on our people,” the Council said.

The statement went on saying “The council considers that the bet of the QSD on the US occupation is a losing bet, and the only solution to the current situation is the national dialogue away from the US dictations that threaten the homeland’s territorial integrity.”

The statement concluded by saluting Mohammad al-Rahil who was martyred on Sunday by the QSD fire, and it saluted the protestors and all the besieged locals of Hasaka and Qamishli, wishing recovery for the injured.
