Capitals, SANA-According to the latest statistics issued by Worldometers Website, the novel coronavirus pandemic has claimed the lives of 1,497,923 people since its appearance last December.
The Website, that tracks the developments of the virus, added that the total number of infections has reached up to 64,785,042, while the recoveries have amounted to 44,890,760.
The United States continues to lead the worst-affected countries in terms of infections and deaths with 279,594 deaths out of 14,290,314 infections, followed by India with 138,628 deaths out of 9,531,295 infections, while Brazil came in the third place, with 174,531 deaths out of 6,436,650 infections.
