Damascus, SANA_ The United States of America and its Western allies have been using their media outlets to publish articles based on fabricated information to mislead public opinion and direct false accusations to defame the image of the Syrian state, its institutions and symbols, under allegations of non-compliance with the Chemical Weapons Convention.
In 2013, Syria joined the The Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) and destroyed its entire chemical stockpile and all production facilities in an ideal and unprecedented manner under the supervision and approval of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and under difficult and complicated circumstances resulting from the war against terrorism.
Syria has also repeatedly condemned the use of chemical weapons by anyone, anywhere and under any circumstances.
The US and its Western allies have been employing mass media systematically and in parallel with publishing articles based on fabricated information mentioned in the two reports of two suspicious organizations that were established for subversive purposes under the support of some western intelligence services.
A group of mercenary journalists, who prepared these articles, adopted the fabricated information mentioned by the two suspicious organizations to direct baseless accusations to distort the image of the Syrian state and its institutions through misleading world public opinion concerning the alleged Syria’s non-compliance with the Chemical Weapons Convention.
The state of politicization experienced by the OPCW and its decision-making bodies has led it to issue non-professional reports that lack tangible evidence.
The failure of the attempts made by states hostile to Syria to use the OPCW as a platform to achieve colonialist objectives required fabricating more misleading information with the aim of giving credibility to the non-professional and misleading reports issued against Syria.
The aim of this media campaign against Syria is to cover the crimes of terrorist organizations and justify the aggressive acts perpetrated by the United States and its allies in 2017 and 2018 or that it could commit in the future to serve its well-known political agendas.
The publication of these press articles on those media platforms clearly reveals its blind bias towards the states hostile to Syria, especially the US and Israel as the US is the only state which still possesses chemical weapons. Moreover, these suspicious media outlets completely ignore the fact that Israel possesses an arsenal of chemical and nuclear weapons that endangers the security and peace in the region and in the world as a whole.
Experts, who had previously worked at the OPCW, presented testimonies that all the accusations fabricated against Syria aimed to implement US and Western political agendas.
