Damascus, SANA- Ibn al-Nafees Hospital in Damascus provides free diagnosis treatment services to about 800 ladies annually who suffer from breast cancer through the tumor Department, which was opened in 2016, according to the medical director of the hospital, Dr. Saad Hamouiah.
During October of each year, which is the International Month for Awareness for Early Detection Breast Cancer (Pink Month), the Tumor Department at the hospital intensifies its awareness and raises activities on the importance of conducting investigative tests to diagnose the tumor on time and ensure the effectiveness of treatment and cure at a higher rate according to Dr. Hamouiah.
He added that the medical staff in the department focuses, in addition to diagnostic and therapeutic services, on psychological support for its effective role in improving the patient’s condition.
The number of women with breast cancer who receive treatment annually reaches an average of 800 ones who receive treatment of various types of chemical, biological and hormonal, according to Dr. Hamouia. present, the most prominent of which is the presence of this type of cancer in a family member.
