Ministry of Endowments announces reopening of mosques for Friday and mass prayers in Damascus and its countryside on Sunday

Damascus, SANA- Ministry of Awqaf (Religious Endowments) announced on Saturday that mosques would be reopen for Friday and mass prayers in Damascus and Damascus countryside provinces on Sunday dawn, in August 16th 2020.

The Ministry indicated, in a statement to SANA, that after 15 days of closing the mosques in Damascus and Damascus countryside provinces, they will be reopened to perform Friday and mass prayers on Sunday, perceiving all health procedures to combat the Coronavirus.

The Ministry added that the religious lessons and other activities will continue to be suspended.

The Ministry announced in August 2nd the suspension of Friday and mass prayers in Mosques in Damascus and Damascus countryside for 15 days starting from Monday, August 3rd, according to the precautionary and preventive measures in facing the Coronavirus.

The Ministry of Endowments also suspended Eid al-Adha prayers in the governorates of Damascus and its countryside due to the spread of the Corona epidemic in the two provinces.
