Sweida walnut production expected to reach 124 tons for the current season

Sweida, SANA- The Directorate of Agriculture in Sweida estimated the province’s total production of walnuts for the current season to reach about / 124 / tons.

In a statement to SANA reporter, Assistant Director of the Agriculture Directorate, Eng. Alaa Shuhaib said that the production of walnuts for the current season is good and better than the last season due to the abundant rainfalls and the availability of suitable climatic conditions for the fruits and nodes.

Shuhaib pointed out that the total areas cultivated with walnut trees in the province amounted to 990 dunums, including 28,446 trees, of which 21,294 trees are fruitful.

Sweida province production of walnuts last season was estimated at about 82 tons.
