Aleppo, SANA- The Directorate of Theaters and Music, in cooperation with the Aleppo branch of the Artists Syndicate, held a celebration on the occasion of World Music Day, which included presenting several oriental and Western musical pieces.
The celebration hosted by the Artists Syndicate theater, was described by Jaber al-Sajour, Director of the National Theater in Aleppo, as a message whose essence is Aleppo, the city of peace and love that has recovered from terrorism and returned today to its activities and cultural elegance.
Sajour added that Aleppo has been the cradle for many elite musicians who have left a unique imprint in the history of the Arabic music.
Meanwhile, Abdel Halim Hariri, head of the Nagham Band at the Artists Syndicate, pointed out that Aleppo is always celebrating Music Day, and today’s celebration conveys a new message through the presence of young people alongside senior musicians, which confirms Aleppo’s continued artistic giving.
Among the participants in the festivity, the young woman, Roud Abu Abed, expressed her happiness by being with the senior professors in this celebration, ” Music is life”, while artist Fouad Maher considered that the celebration contributes to supporting the musical personality of the city of Aleppo because music is a civilization that we are proud of and cherish.
The celebration’s director, artist Ghassan Dahabi, stated that the Music Festival was launched in 1982 in the French capital city of Paris and it is celebrated by the countries of the world on the same date, and as Aleppo is the capital of singing, originality and art it has hosted this celebration for renewing the achievements made by great musicians who performed the finest stanzas.
From the audience, Dr. Nadim Shihabi drew attention to the relationship between music and medicine, as it is a universal and human language that deals with the spiritual side of man and touches his conscience and spirit, indicating that Arabs from ancient times used music in psychotherapy.
