Over 2000 displaced Syrians return via Nassib border crossing

Daraa, SANA-Over 2000 citizens who had been displaced due to terrorist acts returned to Syria on Wednesday coming from Jordan via Nassib border crossing, following facilitations provided to them by the Syrian embassy in Amman.

Head of the Immigration and Passports department at Nassib crossing Mazen Ghandour said in a statement to SANA that during the first month of its reopening, Nassib crossing received 2380 Syrian citizens who did not have official documents but who carried temporary passage tickets that the Syrian embassy in Jordan granted to them to facilitate their return.

In a relevant context, Ghandour said that 300 people who are called on for compulsory or reserve military service have had their legal status settled after they returned to Syria through the border crossing, benefitting from the recent amnesty decree within one month of the opening of the settlement center at the crossing.
