Damascus, SANA –Short Film “Thorns of Jasmine” (Shawk al-Yasmin), from Golan, was screened in the 5thedition of the Youth Cinema and Short Films Festival organized by the General Organization for Cinema at Dar al-Assad for Culture and Arts in Damascus.
Technical Supervisor of the film, Ali Dayoub, said that the 7-minute film relates the story of a girl who suffers a state of anxiety amid the difficult circumstances due to the war waged against her country, Syria. She lives in Damascus and gets married in the occupied Syrian Golan.
He added that the film is the fruit of the efforts by a group of youth from the occupied Syrian Golan who studies in Damascus University and worked at the Students Cinema Club, adding that they wanted to convey a message of steadfastness and support to their motherland, Syria, against terrorism.
The film is written and directed by Rose Farhat and produced by Atta Farhat. It is starred by Natali Saleh and Amir Shaalan.
