Damascus, SANA- The Cabinet approved on Tuesday a plan to strengthen economic cooperation with friendly countries in the coming period.
The Cabinet, in a weekly session led by Prime Minister Emad Khamis, also approved a plan that focuses on opening wider horizons for cooperation, trade exchange and investment in favor of the national interest and in light of the phase of economic recovery and reconstruction.
In turn, Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Mohammad Samer al-Khalil pointed out that the Ministry identified the key friendly countries that will strengthen economic cooperation during the period of reconstruction.
For his part, Minister of Agriculture Ahmad al-Qadiri briefed the Cabinet on the Ministry’s scheme to expand the cultivation of olive trees, estimating the number of olive trees at nearly 100 million ones and the annual production of olive reached nearly 900.000 ton.
