Ashgabat, SANA- Chairman of the General Sports Federation Muwafaq Jum’a stressed that the Syrian sport has been strongly active during the past years and has scored many achievements in various continental and international tournaments and championships.
During his meeting with an Arab sports media delegation to the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, Jum’a said that the Syrian sports is faring well thanks to the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army personnel and the determination of the Syrians and athletes, noting that the Syrian athletes are their country’s ambassadors to all
sport events who are conveying peaceful massages to the entire world.
Jum’a hailed the stances of the Arab countries which supported Syria, adding that Syria will remain the throbbing heart of Arabism.
He expressed Syria’s readiness to host an Arab Games in Damascus or Lattakia next year.
Asked about his expectations about the Syrian Football team, Jum’a hoped that the Syrian team will defeat Australia and move ahead to the World Football Cup.
