Patriarch Yazigi prays for peace in Syria in Mashta al-Hilou

Tartous, SANA – Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Anttioch and All East John X Yazigi presided on prayers for peace in Syria on Friday evening at the Virgin Mary Mountain Church in the town of Mashta al-Hilou in Safita countryside.

Patriarch Yazigi said that Syria years for peace, love, and recovering its former state of coexistence, stressing that the idea of migration is unacceptable to the Christians of Syria and the Middle East because their roots in this land go deep like the roots of oak trees, and that they share a mutual destiny with their Muslim brethren, adding “no-one may force them or temp them to leave.”
