Damascus, SANA-Health Ministry denied on Thursday what has been circulated via some media outlets about raising the prices of medicines.
In a statement to SANA, Health Minister Nizar Yazigi said that what is being reported about raising the locally-manufactured medicine prices is not true, affirming that the ministry exerts all efforts to provide these medicines in the pharmacies to meet the health needs of citizens, particularly during the current circumstances.
He added that the local medicines cover around 89% of the needs of local markets which reflects the Syrian state’s support for this sector.
