Aid convoy containing 23 tons of food and essential items sent by Belarus arrives in Aleppo

Aleppo, SANA – A convoy transporting humanitarian aid presented by the government and people of Belarus arrived on Monday in Aleppo.

Aleppo Governor Hussein Diab said the convoy contains 23 tons of medical air, food, and supplies for children, and that the food will be distributed among the people from the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo city who cross through humanitarian crossings, while the children supplies will be given to children who lost their caregivers, and the medical supplies will go to hospitals in Aleppo.

Diab praised the position of the Belarusian people and leadership in support of Syria and lauded the strong relations between the two countries.

A representative of the Russian Reconciliation Center in Hmeimeem Airbase said that the Russian Defense Ministry transported the aid to Aleppo as part of their humanitarian efforts.

In turn, Director of Aleppo University Hospital Dr. Ibrahim Hadid said the medical aid includes antibiotics for acute infections and other types of medicine.

A plane carrying 45 tons of relief items and food sent by Belarus arrived in Hmeimeem Airbase on Sunday. Belarus had sent a plane in April carrying around 40 tons of aid including wheat, milk, canned food, and assorted relief items.
