Terrorist groups breach cessation of hostilities 7 more times in Damascus and Lattakia

Lattakia, SANA – The Hmeimim-based Russian Coordination Center monitoring the cessation of hostilities agreement in Syria announced that over the past 24 hours, terrorist groups breached the agreement 7 new times, 6 of which took place in Damascus province and the other one was observed in Lattakia countryside.

The center said in a statement that terrorists of “Jaish al-Islam” attacked with mortar shells al-Rihan, Hawsh al-Fara, Douma, Erbin, Harasta and Jobar areas in Damascus countryside, while terrorists of the “Free Army” shelled military positions in Abu Ali Mountain in Lattakia countryside.

The center pointed out that the total number of towns which are now part of the cessation of hostilities agreement reached 584 after the representatives of 6 towns in the countryside of Lattakia and Homs signed the agreement, highlighting that the center’s representatives continue negotiations with the militants’ leaders in the countryside of Homs, Aleppo and Quneitra.

The terrorists of Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIS also attacked with mortar shells and rocket launchers some positions in Aleppo, Damascus countryside, Hama countryside and Daraa, in addition to targeting towns in Damascus, Daraa and Hama.

The cessation of hostilities agreement doesn’t include ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra or other groups designated as terrorist organizations by the UN Security Council.
