The Syrian UN Association condemns Israeli occupation government’s holding of meeting in occupied Syrian Golan

Damascus, SANA- The Syrian UN Association has condemned the holding of a provocative meeting in the occupied Syrian Golan by the Israeli occupation government on April 17, Syria’s national day.

In a letter to the UN Secretary-General on Monday, the association considered the meeting as an “impudent aggression on the Syrian state as it is an aggression on the UN and its leading bodies,”

It called on the UN Security Council to take a firm stance on reviving the work for implementing its resolution No. 497 which states that the Israeli decision to annex the Golan is “null and void”.

The association underlined the necessity of full Israeli withdrawal from all Occupied Syrian and Palestinian territories.

On Sunday, the Israeli occupation government held a meeting in the occupied Syrian Golan during which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to consolidate the occupation of the Golan in blatant violation of all international resolutions and agreements which demand that the Israeli occupation withdraw from the Golan.
