Worldwide coronavirus fatalities exceed 2 million and 611 thousand

Capital, SANA- The novel coronavirus has claimed the lives of more than 2 million and 611 thousand people worldwide since its outbreak in December 2019, according to the latest statistics by the Worldometers website.

According to the website which follows up the latest developments of the coronavirus, the total number of the coronavirus cases recorded in Syria has climbed to 117,719,206, while the death toll has amounted to 2,611,025, and the recoveries reached up to 93,359,895.

The US still tops the worst-affected countries by the virus in terms of the number of infections and deaths after registering 538,514 new fatalities out of 29,737,222 infections, while India comes second after reporting 157,966 deaths out of 11,244,624 infections. Brazil comes third after recording 266,398 fatalities out of 11,051,665 infections.
