Tunis, SANA- Hundreds of Tunisians took to al-Habib Bourguiba Street in the Tunisian capital of Tunis, to stage a stand in solidarity with Syria under the motto “Tunisians call for restoring relations with Syria, break siege imposed on it”.
The solidarity stand was organized by Tunisian National Committee for Supporting Arab Resistance and Fighting Normalization and Zionism, in cooperation with National Union of Syrian Students in Tunisia.
The participants stressed, in a statement to SANA correspondent, that restoring diplomatic relations between Syria and Tunisia constitutes an urgent need, as cutting off those relations was a crime against the two brotherly people and a respond to the US imperialism.
They also highly appreciated Syria’s supportive stances towards the Arab integrity and its defend to the Arab rights, asserting that the Tunisians took to the streets repeatedly to demonstrate against the global war waged against the Syrian people, as well as to reject targeting the Syrian state and support the Syrian Arab Army in its war against terrorism.
The participants saluted Syria, which thwarted the schemes of imperialism and Zionism and their tools of Takfiri terrorists, asserting their continued stand by the Syrian people, army and national leadership led by President Bashar al-Assad.
They also called for lifting of the unjust sanctions imposed by the Western colonial powers on Syria represented by the so-called inhuman and unjust Caesar Act.
During the stand, a documentary film about Syria before and after the war was screened.
