Damascus, SANA- Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates expressed deep sorrow and grief over the earthquake that struck eastern Afghanistan.
A deadly earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter scale struck on Sunday evening Kunar province, northeastern Afghanistan killing 800 people and injuring more than 2,500 others, media reported said.
The Ministry said in a statement that the Syrian government “extends its sincere condolences and deepest sympathy” to the leadership and people of Afghanistan and to the families of the victims hoping a speedy recovery for the injured.
The ministry stressed Syria’s “full solidarity with the friendly state of Afghanistan in this painful affliction”.
