Minister al-Shaibani Meets EU Ambassadors to Discuss Cooperation and Regional Issues

Damascus, SANA-Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani, received the ambassadors of EU countries in Damascus, as part of efforts to strengthen communication and dialogue with international partners.

The meeting addressed the latest developments in Syria and the region, and explored ways to enhance cooperation between Syria and European countries across various sectors.

The two sides also discussed several important issues, including:

• The repeated Israeli aggression on Syrian territory and its impact on regional security and stability.

• The issue of transitional justice and its role in boosting national reconciliation.

• Supporting development projects, especially in affected areas, to boost economic recovery.

• Preserving Syria’s unity and stability, and rejecting any separatist or partition plans.

• Reintegration of “QSD” (Syrian Democratic Forces) into Syrian state institutions to ensure unified decision-making and sovereignty.

• Providing aid to Sweida Governorate and supporting the state’s efforts to restore the effective functioning of its institutions across all regions.

Minister al-Shaibani affirmed the importance of direct dialogue with European countries, and strengthening relations between both sides based on the interests of their peoples.
