Kuwaiti Namaa Charity, UNHCR sign agreement to facilitate Syrian refugees’ return

Kuwait, SANA- United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) signed Monday an agreement with Namaa Charity, of Kuwaiti Social Reform Society, to enable Syrian refugees’ return to their lands and help them restore social and economic stability by providing them cash grants.

KUNA reported that the agreement was signed by UNHCR Representative to Kuwait Nisreen Rubaian and Deputy chairperson of the Reform Society Mohammed Al-Omar.

Rubaian said that this agreement comes at a critical time, especially with the return of Syrian refugees seeking stability to rebuild their lives.

She added that financial assistance is one of the efficient means to support refugees, as it helps them pay for the necessities such as food, shelter, and transportation.

Deputy chairperson of the Reform Society Mohammed Al-Omar explained that the agreement embodies a serious and shared commitment to improving the conditions of returning Syrian refugees.

“This step is crucial for the most vulnerable groups, who need concerted efforts to ensure the achievement of the goals set forth in the agreement” he added.

For his part, the charity executive chairman the charity Saad al-Otaibi emphasized that the agreement complements Kuwait’s charitable efforts to assist those in need, particularly those who have suffered from wars and tragedies, including our brothers and sisters in Syria.

He explained that the financial aid provided under the agreement will enable Syrian families to restore their economic and social stability and begin their lives based on productivity and self-reliance.
